The Wunti Al-Khair Foundation (WAKF) has conducted advocacy and engagement visits to selected Tsangaya schools within Bauchi metropolis as part of efforts to formalize the integration of formal education into the Tsangaya school system.
The visits were aimed at strengthening collaboration with Tsangaya school proprietors and community leaders toward improving access to inclusive and structured learning opportunities for Almajiri children through the integration of formal education components alongside traditional Islamic education.

The Foundation’s delegation was led by the Director of Programs, Mustapha Ango, and included the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, Abubakar Mohammed Yanmaza, as well as the Tech Officer, Muhammad I. Umar.
The delegation visited several Tsangaya schools across Bauchi metropolis, including Tsangayar Alaramma Zanna, earlier renovated by the Foundation, located in Karofin Madaki, Kusurwan Fadan Bauchi, and Nasarawa Jahun.
During the engagements, discussions focused on the importance of integrating basic formal education into the Tsangaya system to improve literacy, life skills, and future opportunities for pupils while preserving the core values of Islamic learning.

The Foundation emphasized that the initiative is part of broader efforts to support educational inclusion, reduce out-of-school children, and promote community-based approaches to educational development within Bauchi State.
The visits reaffirmed WAKF’s continued commitment to promoting inclusive education, supporting vulnerable populations, and advancing community-driven educational interventions capable of improving the lives and future prospects of children across Bauchi State.
