Wunti Al-Khair Foundation marked the International Day of Education with an impactful outreach program at Jibril Aminu Model Secondary School, Bauchi, reaffirming its commitment to inclusive, equitable, and empowering education for young people, particularly the girl-child.

The event brought together students, resource persons and members of the foundation, in a series of interactive and educational sessions aimed at promoting active learning, empowerment, and personal development. A total of 106 female students participated in focused engagement sessions during the program.

One of the key highlights was a presentation by Mr. Alkebulan A. D., who spoke on the theme of co-creating education. His session encouraged students to see themselves as active partners in their learning journey rather than passive recipients of information, emphasizing critical thinking, participation, and ownership of education as tools for personal and societal growth.

The State Coordinator of the EmpowerHer Initiative, who also serves as the Program Officer (Education) at Wunti Al-Khair Foundation, Miss Fatima Aliyu Adamu, delivered a powerful presentation on youth empowerment, self-reliance, and the strategic role of the girl-child in shaping the future of Nigeria. She urged the students to embrace education as a pathway to leadership, independence, and national development.

In further support of girls’ wellbeing and dignity, Miss Khadija Musa Liman and Miss Salamatu Baraya facilitated an informative session on menstrual hygiene management. The presentation addressed myths, personal hygiene practices, and the importance of access to sanitary materials for sustaining girls’ education and confidence.

The program concluded with the distribution of sanitary pads, notebooks, and water bottles to approximately 390 female students, marking the most significant highlight of the celebration. This gesture underscored the Foundation’s holistic approach to education—one that combines learning, health, and welfare support.

The International Day of Education celebration at Jibril Aminu Model Secondary School reflects Wunti Al-Khair Foundation’s ongoing efforts to promote girl-child education, youth empowerment, and community-driven development across Bauchi State and beyond.
