The Wunti Al-Khair Foundation (WAKF) co-sponsored the 5th Annual Bauchi Spelling Bee

The Wunti Al-Khair Foundation (WAKF) has reaffirmed its commitment to education development and youth empowerment through its co-sponsorship and active participation in the 5th Annual Bauchi Spelling Bee Competition 2025, which was successfully held from 3rd to 4th January, 2026 at the ASUP Secretariat Hall, ATAPoly, Bauchi.

The competition brought together brilliant students from public schools, private schools, and homeschooled backgrounds across the 20 Local Government Areas of Bauchi State, providing an inclusive platform to promote literacy, confidence, and academic excellence among young learners.

Designed to accommodate diverse learning levels, the competition was structured into four categories:

  1. Primary Category
  2. Junior Category
  3. Senior Secondary Category
  4. Homeschooled Category

Through this structure, students were able to compete fairly within their educational levels, ensuring equal opportunity for talent discovery and intellectual growth.

Winners of the Competition

Senior Category

  • Champion: Mustapha Tijjani Muhd — Mato Lukshi Memorial Academy, Dass
  • 1st Runner-Up: Divinefavour Samuel Akoko — Makama Nursery, Primary & Secondary School, Bauchi
  • 2nd Runner-Up: Mubashshir Oladimeji Kabir — Badala Academy, Azare

Junior Category

  • Champion: Amatullah Abdulrasheed — Minaret International School, Bauchi
  • 1st Runner-Up: Mahmud Sa’ad Haladu — Badala Academy, Azare
  • 2nd Runner-Up: Aliyu Sani Shitu — Homeschooled Category

Primary Category

  • Champion: Abdulhamid Salisu Baba — Misau Model Academy
  • 1st Runner-Up: Muhammad Abdulmajid Isah — Minaret International School, Bauchi
  • 2nd Runner-Up: Amina Jamilu Maiauduga — Dee-Coddle Private School, Bauchi

The event also featured enthusiastic audience participation, academic mentoring sessions, and recognition of teachers and parents whose efforts contributed to the students’ success.

The 5th Annual Bauchi Spelling Bee Competition concluded on a high note, with stakeholders commending the organizers and sponsors for sustaining the initiative over the years. Wunti Al-Khair Foundation reiterated its readiness to continue partnering with education stakeholders to expand learning opportunities and promote academic excellence across the state.
