The Wunti Al-Khair Foundation (WKF) today held a press briefing, detailing a series of significant initiatives and achievements spanning technology empowerment, agricultural support, and small business development, while firmly reiterating its non-political nature.

The briefing, led by the Foundation’s management, provided a holistic overview of its multi-faceted approach to community development in Bauchi State and beyond.

Tech Fellows Gain Global Exposure in Lagos

A highlight of the report was the recent industrial visit to Lagos by the Bala Wunti Tech Fellows. The cohort of young tech talents visited the prestigious Huawei Innovation Centre, where they engaged with cutting-edge technologies and gained invaluable insights into the global tech landscape from industry leaders.

The Fellows’ experience culminated at GITEX Nigeria 2025, one of Africa’s largest technology exhibitions. In a proud moment for the Foundation, a former Tech Fellow, Muhammad I. Umar exhibited his innovative startup, Edsynk, at the event. His participation demonstrates the tangible outcomes of the Foundation’s investment in youth and technology, showcasing homegrown Nigerian solutions on a major platform.

Massive Agricultural Support for Farmers

In line with its commitment to food security and economic empowerment, the Foundation announced the successful distribution of over six thousand bags of fertilizer to farmers across the 20 local government areas of the state under its Fertilizer for Farmers initiative. This effort is aimed at boosting agricultural productivity and supporting local farming communities.

Separately, in a gesture of goodwill and community support during the recent Maulud celebration, the Foundation also distributed an additional two thousand bags of fertilizer, bringing the total agricultural support to over 8,000 bags within the reporting period.

Empowering Small Businesses: The Bauchi Business Clinic

The Foundation also celebrated the success of its “Bauchi Business Clinic,” a program designed to equip small business owners with essential skills for growth and sustainability. The program has now trained over 1,000 small business owners in various fields, including financial literacy, marketing, and management.

Going a step further, the Foundation has facilitated the formalization of these enterprises by covering the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) registration costs for 100 of the most promising businesses, integrating them into the formal economy and enhancing their credibility and access to opportunities.

A Firm Disclaimer: Foundation is Non-Political

Concluding the briefing, the management of Wunti Al-Khair Foundation issued a strong and unambiguous disclaimer. They reaffirmed that the Foundation is strictly a non-political, humanitarian, and social development organization.

“We strongly urge the public and our colleagues in the media to always verify any information about the Foundation directly from our office or our official channels before transmission,” the Programs Director stated. “Together, we must protect the integrity of the work we are doing.”

The array of programs highlighted underscores the Foundation’s broad-based strategy to drive development from the ground up, empowering individuals in technology, agriculture, and business to build a more prosperous and self-reliant society.
