The Wunti Al-Khair Foundation has successfully concluded a five-day high-impact Bootcamp for its Bala Wunti Tech Fellows in Abuja, aimed at transforming participants from technical learners into future-ready leaders in the global tech ecosystem.

Held from April 14 to April 18, 2026, under the theme “From Code to Leadership: Building the Next Generation of Tech Pioneers,” the bootcamp brought together 25 fellows selected from a 30-member cohort for an intensive blend of leadership training, industrial exposure, and team development.

Rigorous Bootcamp Curriculum at Meethaq Hotel

The core training sessions were held at Meethaq Hotel and focused on equipping participants with critical soft skills and leadership competencies required in today’s dynamic tech landscape.

Each day began with early morning fitness and team-building exercises at Jabi Lake Park, fostering wellness, discipline, and cross-team collaboration.

Participants engaged in expert-led sessions covering a wide range of topics:

  • Leadership in Action, delivered by Enoch Nalado, focused on responsible leadership, integrity, and accountability.
  • Thriving in the Unknown, facilitated by Halima AbdulRauf, explored adaptability and future-proof career strategies.
  • Building Your Narrative, by Salim Gidado, emphasized storytelling and professional communication.
  • The EQ Advantage, led by Jyda Mahuta, focused on emotional intelligence and workplace dynamics.
  • From Idea to Impact, presented by Naimah Illu, guided fellows on transforming ideas into viable ventures.
  • Employability Skills, facilitated by Aisha Kabir, addressed workplace readiness and competitiveness

Chairman’s Mentorship and Strategic Direction

A major highlight of the bootcamp was a fireside chat session with Dr. Bala Maijama’a Wunti, Chairman of the Foundation. The session provided direct mentorship and strategic insights to the fellows.

Originally scheduled project presentations were postponed following the Chairman’s observation of the high quality of participant engagement. He subsequently directed the organization of a dedicated full-day session for comprehensive project showcases involving both the 2024 and 2025 cohorts.

Industrial Visits and Experiential Learning

On April 17, the fellows transitioned from classroom learning to real-world exposure through visits to key innovation and cultural hubs in Abuja.

At Innov8 Hub, participants explored advanced fabrication laboratories and innovation infrastructure, gaining firsthand insight into Nigeria’s evolving tech ecosystem.

The delegation also visited Nike Art Gallery, where fellows examined the intersection of art, culture, and entrepreneurship, broadening their perspective on creative industries.

Team Bonding and Recreation

Following Jumu’ah prayers, the fellows engaged in recreational and team-building activities at Central Park. The session featured structured games and informal networking, providing essential mental relaxation after intensive training sessions and strengthening team cohesion.
