Residents of Sarkin Bauchi Rilwanu Quarters have appealed for financial assistance from the Wunti Al-Khair Foundation to address persistent water scarcity affecting the community.
The appeal was made during a recent engagement where community representatives lamented the severe lack of access to potable water, describing the situation as a long-standing challenge that has significantly affected daily life.
According to the representatives, several efforts had been made to engage relevant authorities, including the water board, but the interventions have yet to produce lasting results. They noted that officials from the water board later suggested a possible technical solution involving the extension of pipelines from a neighboring community, with a detailed cost estimate provided for the project.
Following the proposal, community leaders prepared a formal budget and approached the Wunti Al-Khair Foundation, seeking financial support to implement the water connection project and alleviate the hardship faced by residents.
In response, the Director of Programs at the foundation, Ango Mustapha, acknowledged the submission and stated that the proposal would undergo a thorough review. He added that the community would be contacted after due consideration of the request.
