Wunti Al-Khair Foundation Sponsors Impactful TEDx Bauchi 2025 Under the Theme “Building Bridges”

The Wunti Al-Khair Foundation (WAKF) once again reinforced its commitment to innovation, youth development, and idea-sharing by sponsoring the TEDx Bauchi 2025 event, held under the inspiring theme “Building Bridges.” The event gathered visionaries, innovators, researchers, entrepreneurs, and young talents who delivered thought-provoking talks that resonated deeply with the audience.
This year’s edition featured an impressive lineup of speakers across diverse sectors, each contributing unique perspectives on science, technology, entrepreneurship, and personal growth.
Dr. Rakiya Baba Maaji, Acting Director of the International Cooperation and Linkages Department of NASRDA, opened her session with insights on the role of space technology and international collaboration in shaping Africa’s development future. She emphasized the need for partnerships and knowledge exchange to bridge scientific gaps and accelerate national growth.
Miss Deborah Fashida, a Mechatronics and Systems Engineering student at ATBU Bauchi, captivated the audience with her talk on the power of curiosity. She encouraged young people to embrace questioning, experimentation, and continuous learning as essential tools for innovation and problem-solving.
Dr. Abba Abubakar Aliyu, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Rural Electrification Agency of Nigeria, delivered an engaging session on the future of renewable energy. He highlighted Nigeria’s opportunities in off-grid power solutions, solar-driven development, and community-centered electrification projects that can transform rural livelihoods.
Entrepreneurship also took center stage with Mustapha Gajibo, Founder of African Motor Works, who shared his remarkable journey in building Nigeria’s pioneering electric vehicle manufacturing initiative. His talk underscored the importance of resilience, creativity, and local solutions in driving business growth.
In another compelling session, Salma Inuwa, Chief Pilot at Pyatic Flying Associates, shared her experiences in aviation, inspiring many with her message on breaking barriers and uplifting more women into technical and leadership careers.
The event further featured Hamza Yunusa, CEO of Hydronomics Limited, who discussed innovative water solutions; Usman Umar Zambuk, Managing Director of Braverock Group, who spoke on business leadership; Maryam Ahmed, Founder of Mimies Homemade, who highlighted the realities of building a successful small enterprise; and Aminu M. Nyako, an agripreneur who enlightened the audience on the vast possibilities in agribusiness and food systems.
Alongside the powerful talks, the programme included a variety of entertainment sessions, with performances that energized the audience and showcased local creativity and talent.
