In a bid to bridge the digital divide among students, the Wunti Al-Khair Foundation, in partnership with the Mind the Gap Community Development Service (CDS) Group, organized a one-day digital literacy training at Sa’adu Zungur Secondary School in Bauchi.
The initiative, aimed at equipping students with essential computer skills, covered topics such as basic computer operations, internet safety, digital footprint, and the importance of digital literacy in modern education. Over 150 students and teachers participated in the interactive session in the school.
Speaking during the event, the foundation’s program officer, Fatima Aliyu Adamu, emphasized the foundation’s commitment to supporting quality education through technology. “In today’s world, digital skills are no longer optional but a necessity. We want to ensure that students in underserved communities are not left behind,” she said.
The leader of the Mind the Gap CDS Group Mr Smart, added that the program was part of their efforts to complement government initiatives in education. “By empowering students with digital knowledge, we are preparing them for future opportunities in a technology-driven world,” she noted.
The school’s principal, Mrs Hajara Ysuf, expressed gratitude to the organizations for the initiative, calling for more collaborations to enhance learning facilities in the school.
