In a remarkable gesture of compassion and community support, Wunti Al-Khair Foundation has donated the sum of ₦1 million to the Association of Sickle Cell Patients in Bauchi State to strengthen its advocacy and awareness campaigns.
The donation, presented during a brief ceremony in Bauchi, will enable the association to carry out a series of impactful activities aimed at increasing public awareness and improving the lives of sickle cell patients. These activities include advocacy visits, school visitations, radio sensitization programs, and a stakeholders’ engagement day.
Speaking at the event, a representative of Wunti Al-Khair Foundation reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to advancing healthcare and supporting vulnerable groups in society. He noted that the fight against sickle cell disease requires collective action, community sensitization, and stronger support systems for patients and their families.
Receiving the donation, the leadership of the Association of Sickle Cell Patients expressed heartfelt appreciation to Wunti Al-Khair Foundation for the timely intervention. They highlighted that the funds would go a long way in raising awareness, reducing stigma, and building partnerships that can lead to better healthcare access for people living with the condition.
The planned activities are expected to reach a wide audience, including students, policymakers, and the general public, thereby fostering greater understanding of sickle cell disease and the need for preventive measures such as genotype awareness before marriage.
This latest donation further reinforces the Foundation’s resolve to stand with vulnerable groups and contribute meaningfully to public health advocacy.
