In a bid to support education in rural communities, the Wunti Al-Khair Foundation, under its Edu-Reach Initiative, recently visited Rudu Gungun Primary School, donating essential learning materials, including whiteboards, exercise books, seats, and writing materials, to enhance the quality of education for pupils in the area.
The foundation’s team, led by Barr. Umar Magaji, was warmly received by the community head, volunteer teachers, and excited pupils. The donation is part of the foundation’s ongoing efforts to bridge the educational gap in underserved communities across Northern Nigeria.
During the handover ceremony, the Foundation’s M&E Officer, Abubakar Mohd Yanmaza, emphasized the importance of education in nation-building. "We believe that every child deserves access to quality learning tools. By providing these materials, we hope to create a better learning environment and inspire the pupils to strive for excellence," he said.
The volunteer teacher of Rudu Gungun Primary School, Malaman Rudu Gungun, expressed deep gratitude for the gesture, noting that the lack of basic learning facilities had been a major challenge. "These materials will significantly improve teaching and learning in our school. We are truly grateful to Wunti Al-Khair Foundation for remembering us," she stated.
Pupils and teachers cheered as the new whiteboards were installed and the books distributed. A Primary pupil, Aisha Mohammed, shared her excitement: "Now we can write better on the new boards, and our books are not torn anymore. Thank you!"
The foundation also pledged to monitor the school’s progress and provide additional support where necessary. Community leaders praised the initiative, calling for more organizations to emulate Wunti Al-Khair Foundation’s commitment to educational development.
