Hundreds Vie For Slots in Vocational Skills Training Program (VSTP)

The Wunti Al-Khair Foundation has commenced the screening of applicants for its Vocational Skills Training Program (VSTP), an initiative aimed at empowering youths and women with practical vocational skills for self-reliance and economic sustainability.
The exercise, held at the foundation’s office in Bauchi, attracted hundreds of applicants from across the state, reflecting the high demand for skill acquisition opportunities among unemployed and underprivileged individuals. The program offers training in various skills, including tailoring, carpentry, welding, electrical and solar installation , catering, and leather works and shoe making.
During the screening process, candidates were assessed based on their eligibility, interest, and commitment to learning. Foundation officials emphasized the importance of equipping beneficiaries with market-relevant skills to reduce unemployment and foster entrepreneurship in the region.
Successful applicants will undergo intensive six months training and benefit from mentorship and business development support to help them establish their own enterprises.
The VSTP aligns with the foundation’s broader mission of poverty alleviation and youth empowerment.
