A Month-Long Qur’anic Recitation Inspires Community During Ramadan

Date Published

Some group of Islamiya Students have captivated the hearts of residents by completing a month-long Qur’anic recitation exercise in observance of Ramadan, showcasing their dedication to Islamic learning and spiritual growth.

The initiative, organized by Wunti Al-Khair Foundation, brought together children aged 6 to 15 who engaged in reciting the Holy Qur’an daily throughout the fasting month. The event culminated in a special ceremony attended by parents, community leaders, and well-wishers, where the children were honored for their efforts.

Mallam Atiku Isah and Barr. Umar Magaji, overseeing the program, praised the participants for their discipline and enthusiasm. "These children have not only strengthened their own faith but also reminded us all of the beauty of the Qur’an," Mallam Atiku said. "Their commitment during Ramadan, despite fasting and school responsibilities, is truly inspiring."

Parents expressed pride in their children’s achievements. "My son wakes up early to recite before suhoor, and it’s amazing to see how much he has improved," said Fatima Ahmed, a mother of one of the participants.

The program also included Tajweed lessons and short Tafsir (explanation) sessions to help the children better understand the verses they recited.

Local leaders hope the initiative will inspire more youth to engage deeply with the Qur’an, fostering a stronger connection to their faith. Plans are already intensified to involve more beneficiaries for the next round of the program.

Closing the 2025 round of the program, about 223 beneficiaries, each were given exercise books and writing materials, a bag of 25kg of rice, water bottles, school bags and garment to celebrate eid.
