Wunti Al-Khair Foundation Donates and Installs Solar Panels to Improve Security in Wunti Community

In a bold step towards enhancing community safety and development, the Wunti Al-Khair Foundation has donated and installed 6 solar-powered streetlights in Wunti community. The initiative is aimed at improving night-time security and providing reliable lighting for residents.
The intervention comes in response to long-standing concerns from residents over poor lighting, which has contributed to safety challenges and hindered night-time social and economic activities. With the new solar installations, key areas of the community—including junctions, and public spaces—will now be illuminated.
Speaking during the commissioning, representatives of the Foundation emphasized that the project aligns with its mission of improving the quality of life for vulnerable communities through practical, sustainable solutions.
“This is more than just providing light; it is about giving people a sense of security, encouraging small businesses to thrive after dark, and creating a safer environment for everyone,” a Foundation official noted.
Community leaders and residents expressed deep appreciation to the Foundation, describing the project as a timely intervention that will positively transform their lives. They pledged to take ownership of the facilities and ensure their maintenance.
The solar-powered initiative is part of Wunti Al-Khair Foundation’s broader efforts to promote community development across Bauchi State, spanning health, education, empowerment, and infrastructure support.
With this project, Wunti community now looks forward to brighter nights, improved security, and renewed social activities, all powered by clean and sustainable energy.
