In a major humanitarian gesture, Kiferu and Gold Sickle Cell Foundation, with sponsorship from the Wunti Al-Khair Foundation, has organized a free distribution of essential drugs to sickle cell patients at the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi.

The outreach program, which drew several beneficiaries within the state, was aimed at supporting individuals living with sickle cell anemia by providing them with vital medications to manage their condition and improve their quality of life.

Speaking during the event, representatives of the Kiferu and Gold Sickle Cell Foundation expressed their gratitude to Wunti Al-Khair Foundation for funding the intervention, noting that access to essential drugs remains one of the biggest challenges faced by people living with sickle cell disease in Nigeria.

They emphasized that the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to reduce the burden of sickle cell disorder through timely support, awareness creation, and continuous advocacy for improved healthcare access.

On its part, Wunti Al-Khair Foundation reaffirmed its dedication to humanitarian causes, especially in the areas of health, education, and poverty alleviation. The Foundation stated that the sponsorship of the drug distribution is part of its broader mission to give hope to vulnerable groups and strengthen community well-being.

Beneficiaries and their families expressed joy and appreciation, describing the intervention as life-saving and a huge relief from the financial burden of purchasing medications.

The program concluded with an appeal to government agencies, institutions, and well-meaning individuals to intensify efforts in supporting sickle cell patients and scaling up interventions across Bauchi State and beyond.
