The Wunti Al-Khair Foundation (WAKF) participated as a major strategic partner at the Grand Finale of the Bauchi Women SDGs Hackathon held at the 1,000-Seat Capacity Khan Senior Lecture Theater (KSLT), Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The high-profile event brought together over 500 participants, including innovators, mentors, development stakeholders, students, and invited guests, to showcase technology-driven solutions addressing critical socio-economic challenges in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of its commitment to inclusive education, innovation, and women empowerment, the Foundation supported the initiative through both financial sponsorship and technical mentorship for participating teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the event, the Foundation\u2019s Programs Officer for Education delivered a goodwill message on behalf of the Foundation, reaffirming WAKF\u2019s dedication to fostering digital innovation, empowering young women, and supporting grassroots technology solutions capable of driving sustainable development within Bauchi State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A major highlight of the programme was the live pitching competition where participating mentees presented innovative tech-based solutions designed to address pressing development challenges. Following a competitive evaluation process, three outstanding teams emerged as winners and received direct seed funding through the Foundation\u2019s and other partner\u2019s sponsorship support. The winning team received a cash prize of \u20a61 million, while the second and third-place teams were awarded \u20a6500,000 each to support the growth and implementation of their innovations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Foundation noted that the event demonstrated the growing interest and potential of young women in digital innovation and entrepreneurship within Bauchi State.
