The competition has remained a vital platform for identifying and nurturing young spelling talents across the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 2025 edition of the competition was held from&nbsp;<strong>3rd to 4th January, 2026<\/strong>&nbsp;at the&nbsp;<strong>ASUP Secretariat Hall, ATAPOLY, Bauchi<\/strong>. It recorded the participation of&nbsp;<strong>250 students<\/strong>&nbsp;drawn from public, private, and homeschooled institutions across the&nbsp;<strong>20 Local Government Areas<\/strong>&nbsp;of Bauchi State. Contestants competed in three categories:&nbsp;<strong>Primary (79 participants), Junior (91 participants), and Senior (80 participants)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Organized by the&nbsp;<strong>Bauchi Spelling Bee Competition Committee<\/strong>, the program was co-sponsored by&nbsp;<strong>Wunti Al-Khair Foundation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"972\" height=\"640\" src=\"https:\/\/news.thewakf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/unnamed-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-293\" srcset=\"https:\/\/news.thewakf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/unnamed-2.jpg 972w, https:\/\/news.thewakf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/unnamed-2-300x198.jpg 300w, https:\/\/news.thewakf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/unnamed-2-768x506.jpg 768w, https:\/\/news.thewakf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/unnamed-2-750x494.jpg 750w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 972px) 100vw, 972px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The competition featured several challenging rounds designed to test spelling accuracy, confidence, and language mastery. These rounds included&nbsp;<strong>forward spelling, double forward spelling, backward spelling, forward\u2013consonant\u2013vowel spelling<\/strong>, as well as the&nbsp;<strong>quarter-final, semi-final, and final stages<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the end of the competition, outstanding students emerged as winners across all categories. In the&nbsp;<strong>Senior Category<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Mustapha Tijjani Muhd<\/strong>&nbsp;of Mato Lukshi Memorial Academy, Dass, emerged as Champion, while&nbsp;<strong>Divine favour Samuel Akoko<\/strong>&nbsp;of Makama Nursery\/Primary &amp; Secondary School, Bauchi, and&nbsp;<strong>Mubashshir Oladimeji Kabir<\/strong>&nbsp;of Badala Academy, Azare, finished as first and second runners-up respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The&nbsp;<strong>Junior Category<\/strong>&nbsp;was won by&nbsp;<strong>Amatullah Abdulrasheed<\/strong>&nbsp;of Minaret International School, Bauchi. She was followed by&nbsp;<strong>Mahmud Sa\u2019ad Haladu<\/strong>&nbsp;of Badala Academy, Azare, as first runner-up, and&nbsp;<strong>Aliyu Sani Shitu<\/strong>&nbsp;from the homeschooled category as second runner-up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"850\" height=\"560\" src=\"https:\/\/news.thewakf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/unnamed-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-294\" srcset=\"https:\/\/news.thewakf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/unnamed-1.jpg 850w, https:\/\/news.thewakf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/unnamed-1-300x198.jpg 300w, https:\/\/news.thewakf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/unnamed-1-768x506.jpg 768w, https:\/\/news.thewakf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/unnamed-1-750x494.jpg 750w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 850px) 100vw, 850px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the&nbsp;<strong>Primary Category<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Abdulhamid Salisu Baba<\/strong>&nbsp;of Misau Model Academy emerged as Champion, with&nbsp;<strong>Muhammad Abdulmajid Isah<\/strong>&nbsp;of Minaret International School, Bauchi, and&nbsp;<strong>Amina Jamilu Maiauduga<\/strong>&nbsp;of Dee-Coddle Private School, Bauchi, taking the first and second runner-up positions respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Winners were rewarded with&nbsp;<strong>cash prizes of \u20a650,000 for champions, \u20a630,000 for first runners-up, and \u20a620,000 for second runners-up<\/strong>, in addition to&nbsp;<strong>medals and awards<\/strong>&nbsp;presented to both students and outstanding coaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event was attended by the Foundation\u2019s Director of Programs Mr. Ango Mustapah, along with Program Officer, Education, Miss Fatima Aliyu Adamu. Also in attendance were key education stakeholders and dignitaries, including representatives from the&nbsp;<strong>Bauchi State Ministry of Education<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>SUBEB<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>LEA<\/strong>, the&nbsp;<strong>CEO of Lolar Catar for Needy Foundation<\/strong>, leadership of&nbsp;<strong>NAPPS<\/strong>, the&nbsp;<strong>NUBASS President<\/strong>, school coaches, students, and other distinguished guests.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The&nbsp;5th Annual Bauchi Spelling Bee Competition&nbsp;showcased its commitment to strengthening spelling skills, English language proficiency, and academic excellence among students in Bauchi State.
