In what is being called a landmark event for the state\u2019s economic future, the Wunti Al-Khair Foundation was at the maiden Bauchi Economic & Investment Summit, held October 8-9, 2025. The Summit, organized under Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed\u2019s \u201cMy Bauchi Project\u201d vision, brought together government officials, private sector investors (both local and international), civil society, and development partners. Areas of Investment Explored<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

During the Summit, a number of key sectors were identified as priority areas for investment and development. These included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Agriculture<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 leveraging Bauchi\u2019s fertile lands, improving value chains, agro-processing, food security and input supply. (Thisdaylive<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Solid Minerals and Natural Resources<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 unlocking Bauchi\u2019s mineral potentials, easing licensing\/regulation processes. (Thisdaylive<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MoUs Signed & Outcomes<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Summit resulted in a flurry of agreements and pledges:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

47 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs)<\/strong>\u00a0were signed between the Bauchi State Government and various local and international investors. (Thisdaylive<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The total investment commitments exceeded\u00a0US$5.2 billion<\/strong>, with additional domestic investment in the hundreds of billions of naira. (The Nation Newspaper<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some other deals include a\u00a0US$2.7 billion agreement<\/strong>\u00a0with China Fuhai Energy Group to build a Petrochemical City Complex in Bauchi. (Leadership News<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The maiden Bauchi Economic & Investment Summit has been widely hailed as a success, setting in motion investment agreements, showcasing the State\u2019s comparative advantages, and raising hopes for job creation, economic diversification and sustainable growth.
